big beet is a New York City based multi-cultural diasporic drum centered ensemble. Rhythms that travel across the globe’s oceans, drums from the Caribbean, North, West and Central Africa, Brazil, afro-latin, jazz, and blues influences have informed the music, leading it to move people with an uplifting groove and open meditation. The drum choir is likely as old as any human ritual, we invite those in attendance of our music live or recorded to join us in spirit.

“epic and groovy… elements of Caribbean, Latin, and African music…a spaceship full of dancing drums” – Illustrate Magazine

Our first single Hope Lie’s Ahead, an anthem to the self, heart, and mind is out now.

We also released a live dance and music video featuring esteemed dancers Jai’Quinn Coleman, Ndaya Hoskins, Fausto Mauriano, and Heily Grisales.

The band will release their premiere album this summer with singles along the way. Music videos, live performances, more dance videos and found percussion. Follow along to stay updated! IG FB YT
